Sika® Primer-127 – Two-component epoxy resin primer for steel and galvanised steel Sika® Primer-127 (formerly MSeal P 127) is a high-quality, two-component primer on an epoxy resin basis for optimal adhesion promotion and corrosion protection for steel, galvanised steel and cathodic dip-coated (KTL) surfaces. The primer was developed specifically for use with the polysulphide sealants Sikaflex® CR 170 and CR 171. For steel substrates, blasting (SA 2 ½ or St 3 per DIN EN ISO 12944-4) is mandatory. Completely remove old coatings of unknown composition. Sika® Primer-157 – Two-component primer for asphalt & mastic asphalt Sika® Primer-157 (formerly MSeal P 157) is a high-quality, two-component primer on a polysulphide-epoxy resin basis. It was developed specifically for adhesion promotion for the polysulphide sealants Sikaflex® CR 170 and CR 171 on asphalt and mastic asphalt. Thanks to its film-forming properties, it also offers a sealing protective film. Product advantages: Film-forming and sealing – for reliable protection of the joint flanks Very good adhesion to asphalt and mastic asphalt Optimal penetration behaviour for permanently resilient bonds Compatible with Sikaflex® CR 170 and CR 171 Areas of application: Bonding agent for asphalt surfaces in road and civil engineering Joint pre-treatment on mastic asphalt for bridges, parking decks or industrial areas Technical properties: Product type: two-component polysulphide-epoxy resin primer Colour: transparent Packaging: 1 litre combination pack Flash-off time: approx. 4 hours at 20 °C (tack-free), overwork after 8 hours at the latest Application temperature: 15–25 °C (component & substrate temperature) Substrate preparation: The joint flanks must be load-bearing, clean, dry and free of oils, greases, loose components, paints and separating substances. The surface is wet-cut or ground with diamond tools to achieve a finely grippy texture. Before application, the substrate must be thoroughly cleaned (vacuumed/blown off) and completely dried. Mixing & application: Stir component A thoroughly. Add component B completely and mix homogeneously with a stirrer at approx. 300 rpm for at least 2 minutes. Apply with a roller or brush to prepared substrates – no puddle formation! Before jointing, the primer must be cured tack-free. Cleaning: Cured primer can only be removed mechanically. Clean hands with cleaning wipes or water & industrial hand cleaner – do not use solvents on the skin.
