Sika® Backer Rod Fire – Fire protection joint backfill material made of mineral wool
Sika® Backer Rod Fire is a high-quality, non-combustible joint backfill material for use in fire-protection-tested joint systems. The product consists of chemically based mineral wool fully enclosed in a stabilised glass fibre mesh. This guarantees high dimensional stability, temperature resistance and lasting performance.

Dimensions and joint sizing
Correct joint sizing must be observed and is described in the European Technical Assessment ETA 23/0088.
Selection rule: the diameter of Sika® Backer Rod Fire must be approx. 15% larger than the width of the joint to guarantee secure clamping.
